Whistleblower Protections

Some state laws and many federal statutes contain “whistleblower” provisions that protect employees from retaliation from reporting certain types of unlawful actions by an employer.  One example is an employer’s violation of certain safety laws.  Some state laws also provide whistleblower-type protections to governmental employees.  Another example is the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which prohibits retaliation against employees who report an employer’s alleged violation of federal securities laws.

Our firm has experience handling these types of cases.  For more information, please email one of our attorneys or call us at (276) 628-9515.
